Submission to Search Engines
April 24th, 2009Let us assume the fact that your website is fairly new and your developers have just finished uploading it. There is a very little chance of search engines to know your website and immediately crawl, although this is not something which is not possible. Before I tell you how to manually submit your website to search engines, I want to tell you that your website should really have quality content so that it ranks properly. Always design your websites for your customers keeping the search engines in mind rather than designing for search engines keeping the customer in mind.
Here are the links on how to submit your website to 4 different search engines:
Google: http://www.google.com/submityourcontent/index.html
Yahoo: http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html
Live.com: http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx
Ask.com: Submit Sitemap to Ask.com
Now this information could change, but it is correct as of today. Also this is not the only way, it is just one of the way. There are many more search engines in the world and many upcoming ones but I have included 4 here.
I do not believe in using any tools or services other than the ones directly provided by the search engines. The reason for that is that there is no proof on the authenticity of the results provided by the tools. I am sure the tools out there are really good and helpful, but I do not trust them!! I will talk more in my next post...in the mean time think about just one thing...if your competitor if ranking better than yours, then he is doing something which is right as per the search engines. May be this way you can disseminate how you can do even better![]()
